Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their punishment.

Ø  The strength of a building depends on the strength of the foundation. If an engineer finds fult in the foundation, he rather destroys the whole building - waste all the money invested in it - than to risk the lives of people that would use the building if it is allowed to remain. 

Ø  In your personal life, you better lose one thing now (as you correct your faulty foundation) than waste the destinies and lives of people that are dependent on you-those in your loins who will depend upon you in days to come. 

Ø  There are things in your lineage that your family cannot escape if they just sit there and do nothing about it. 

Ø  Evil foundations cause repetition of evil happenings in peoples lives.

Ø  There are people who have an evil foundation that claim that their lives must end on a particular day or season. Such a person, when their predestined day comes, they can die from anything minor. An example is people who board a vehicle with a person predestined to die on the road accident that day. When the accident happens, so many innocent people die alongside them. When travelling therefore, pray in this way- 'that you don’t board a vehicle or plane, or train with a person marked for death.'

Ø  Others may come to irritate you, or make bad jokes, and when you react aggressively; like slap them in anger , they collapse and die; making you to be a cause of their death. In this case, you also now invite the spirit of death in your family since you have now killed. And one who kills by the sword dies by it too. Matt 26:52, Rev 13:10.

 Psalm 11:3 King James Version (KJV)  If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Ø  When you see a housefly in the house, do not just try to kill them. Find the thing that is attracting them, remove it and the housefly will go away with it.

Ø  Most people only try to deal with the results of a foundation rather than dealing with the route cause. It is like cutting the branches of a tree and leaving the stump and the roots. After sometime when the rain season comes, the branches regrow again, and this time more than the first.

Ø  Salvation does not end at just receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. Chris saves the spirit, delivers the soul and heals the body. However, He doesn’t change your foundation unless you invite Him to do it. He (Christ) acts as a gentleman - never involving Himself where he is not invited. 

Ø  Even after receiving Christ, then you realize that your foundation is faulty, you need to destroy all that you have made with the faulty foundation, and begin afresh.

Ø  If your fathers sinned, they laid a foundation to which you were built on and among things inherited by children is the foundation.

Ø  Do everything to find out the type of foundation you have been built on. NewLiving Translation 51:1 

"Listen to me, all who hope for deliverance-all who seek the LORD! Consider the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were mined.”

Ø  God told Abram that before He blesses him, and bless those who bless him, or curse those who curse him, he must first separate, leave , and disconnect from his own people . God is telling him to disregard his foundation and trust God to take him to a place he doesn’t know about.

Ø  You are building in vein if you are building on the foundations of your fathers. You must let God build you afresh.

Ø  Elisha destroyed all things linking him to his family’s foundation before following Elijah.

Ø  When Jesus resurrected Lazarus, He called him forth. That represented salvation. He didn’t stop there. It was not complete. So he said to the people – untie him and let him be free from the grave clothing.

Ø  You may be born again but still with garments of poverty, polygamy, immorality and many others. You need to be untied and let to be released to go free.

Ø  Whenever you see a wrong thing in your parents, do not be quick to criticize, instead thank God that you have seen it, and then disconnect yourself from it through prayer.
